Deceptive Identities Exposed

Deception is defined as: 1. The act of making someone believe something that is not true : the act of deceiving someone. 2. An act or statement intended to make people believe something that is not true.

I love how the Father speaks even when I’m watching television. Today while watching an old episode of Criminal Minds, the scene opens with three of the female FBI agents in a bar conversing with a nicely dressed man. He is discussing how important his job is as an FBI agent at the Quantico, Virginia headquarters. When the real agents questioned him about certain particulars of his job, he replies, “Its classified information.” They in turn look at each other and laughed because they actually work out of the Quantico headquarters. Finally, one of the agents asks if they could see his ID and badge.

The look on the man’s face is one a thief would make when he is caught red handed in the midst of a robbery. Once again they ask for his ID and badge. By this time, they were totally tickled and said in unison, “Oh yes, its classified information.” The camera then pans back to show the expression on the man’s face who gives off a very weak laugh as they each pull out their ID and badge. The scene concludes with them asking the man if his badge looks anything like theirs. He finally realizes that he has been fully exposed as the deceptive person he is and without one word to the agents he walks away.

In the word of God found in Joshua 9: 1-18 there is a story known as the Gibionite Deception. Joshua and the children of Israel a short time after entering the promise land become the unfortunate victims of this deceptive practice.

“Now when all the kings west of the Jordan heard about these things—the kings in the hill country, in the western foothills, and along the entire coast of the Mediterranean Sea as far as Lebanon (the kings of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites)— 2 they came together to wage war against Joshua and Israel. 3 However, when the people of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai, 4 they resorted to a ruse: They went as a delegation whose donkeys were loaded with worn-out sacks and old wineskins, cracked and mended. 5 They put worn and patched sandals on their feet and wore old clothes. All the bread of their food supply was dry and moldy. 6 Then they went to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal and said to him and the Israelites, “We have come from a distant country; make a treaty with us.”

7 The Israelites said to the Hivites, “But perhaps you live near us, so how can we make a treaty with you?” 8 “We are your servants,” they said to Joshua. But Joshua asked, “Who are you and where do you come from?” 9 They answered: “Your servants have come from a very distant country because of the fame of the Lord your God. For we have heard reports of him: all that he did in Egypt, 10 and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan—Sihon king of Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth. 11 And our elders and all those living in our country said to us, ‘Take provisions for your journey; go and meet them and say to them, “We are your servants; make a treaty with us.”’ 12 This bread of ours was warm when we packed it at home on the day we left to come to you. But now see how dry and moldy it is. 13 And these wineskins that we filled were new, but see how cracked they are. And our clothes and sandals are worn out by the very long journey.”

14 The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the Lord. 15 Then Joshua made a treaty of peace with them to let them live, and the leaders of the assembly ratified it by oath.
16 Three days after they made the treaty with the Gibeonites, the Israelites heard that they were neighbors, living near them. 17 So the Israelites set out and on the third day came to their cities: Gibeon, Kephirah, Beeroth and Kiriath Jearim. 18 But the Israelites did not attack them, because the leaders of the assembly had sworn an oath to them by the Lord, the God of Israel.”

Prayer:
Sovereign Father, help me to stay alert emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Help me to be mindful of those who come with the intent to deceive as they promote their own agenda or to protect their own lives. Help me not to come into alignment or covenant agreement with anyone or anything you have not ordained. Help me to guard my own heart against any personal deception as well. I thank you for the full armor of God which will help me to stand strong as I move further into my promised land. Lastly, I thank you for the truth of your word which reveals that I will continue to pass through in victory as long as I stay in alignment and covenant agreement with you. In Jesus name, I worship and praise you. Amen.

Follow the Path of Righteousness

On the morning of Saturday December 6, 2014, I had an open vision. The vision began with people walking to and fro in the earth going about their daily tasks. Out of nowhere a multitude of apes appeared. Almost immediately I was able to make a connection between these apes and those seen in the most recent movie version of the Planet of the Apes.

As the vision unfolded the apes began to walk among the people as they went about their normal day. Any place that people could be found, you would see the apes going in and out among them.

This increase of apes was found in homes, businesses and other places where people normally congregated. Because of their continual unruly behavior, soon the people began to tire of the apes and looked for solutions on how to get rid of them. But whenever they found workable solutions their plans were always discovered. In the end the people finally realized that the apes did not want to change, nor did they want to leave from around them.

Ultimately, it was revealed that the main purpose and desire of the apes was to completely invade every facet of human life and to change the course of what is now considered as moral and decent behavior.

After the vision, I asked the Father for the interpretation and what He desired for me to take away to pray about. I’m now released to share that this vision serves as a message of caution as it relates to the sign of the times.

As people of God we are to always seek to be examples of Christ as we walk and interact with others on a daily basis. So it is imperative especially during this time of uncertainty and national unrest that we continue to covey the true image of Christ in all that we say and do.

While many among us may use tactics and behavior that contradict the very essence and character of Christ, those who are the true sons and daughters of the living and sovereign God must daily make a conscience effort to always let their speech and conduct remain pleasing in His sight. People must see the love, hope, faith and truth of the Father out on public display and not purposely hidden under a bushel.

Overall, we must remain obedient to our initial charge as Christians and must never allow for the misguided zeal of others to lead us to stray from the established path of righteousness. No matter what happens, the light of Christ must reign supreme in every situation.

Blessings,

A Scribe of the Lord, a Scribe for the Lord

Scripture:

Proverbs 4:18
The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.

Prayer:

Father, I ask for your forgiveness for anytime I acted in a behavior unbecoming of the essence and character of Christ. Today, I align my heart with yours and seek to do things your way.

Thank you for your established path of righteousness and for the opportunity and honor to walk upright in the midst of so many nations. Thank you for the strength, wisdom and courage to obey you despite the status quo. Thank you in advance for helping me to not allow the unruly behavior of others to lead me astray. Thank you that the prayers of the righteous are powerful, strategic and effective in the realm of the spirit.

Father, I thank you that I can take a stand for unrighteousness, but first I must be found standing in your righteousness. I praise you for your continued faithfulness and ability to work all things together for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purpose. I give you praise in advance; because in all things you remain seated upon your heavenly throne. It’s in Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
